Transforming Garden and Home
This Bucks County couple recently moved to a home where six raised beds lay inert amid the landscape. The idea of a vegetable garden began to grow as they considered the possibilities for the pre-designated garden area. Through thoughtful design, we transformed a once-broken-down and inactive space into a flourishing food forest and raised bed garden. This garden, at over 1,500 square feet, holds two distinct and highly curated growing areas. One side, angular and symmetrical, holds annual raised beds for classic vegetable gardening, while the other is an organic and sweeping food forest, brimming with herbaceous, fruiting, and pollinating perennials. With this space, the couple has transformed what it means to have a home garden and how it can revitalize this new stage of life
